BIOCONTACT
An engineer, producer, songwriter and performer, Adam Miner has been part of the Canadian music industry for over a decade, releasing six solo records and producing hundreds of recordings for other artists.
Miner's most recently released production is Lindsay Dana's "MONDAY MORNING RETROSPECTIVE." Among other performances it features a guitar collaboration between himself and former Big Wreck guitarist Brian Dohrety. His guitar work and mixing skills have also been recognized, most notably on Matt MacDonald's record "AN AWAKENING OF PRAISE" which was nominated Praise and Worship Album of the Year in 2007 by The Gospel Music Association of Canada.
From 2008 to 2009 Miner engineered along side multi-award winning engineer Jeff Wolpert (known for his work with Loreena McKennitt, Great Big Sea and Anne Murray) and Duane Baron (Ozzy Osborne, Motley Crue and Rod Stewart) on various projects including hard-rock group VanScott's THIEF OF TIME and the Showtime drama THE TUDORS.
As a live sound engineer Adam has been the chief engineer and co-ordinator of multiple stages at festivals including Adrenaline Fest and in 2010 he will operate the main stage for Sarnia's Art Walk Festival for the third time.
Adam's skill as a performer has garnered him opportunities to play at some of the most prestigious rooms in North America (Hugh's Room Toronto, The Bluebird Cafe Nashville) as well as Bayfest, one of the largest outdoor music festivals in the country. His work as a vocalist earned him the blessing of Mary Guibert to record the unfinished Jeff Buckley composition "Thousand Fold" during the sessions for Adam's 1999 record "FALLING MOTHS".
Over the years Adam has grown his studio from an 8-track cassette machine into a 2000 sq ft. facility equipped with some of the finest tools in audio. It boasts over 1400 sq ft. of performance space and is the largest commercial facility in Sarnia and the rest of Ontario outside Toronto. In that time he has had the chance to record and collaborate on projects with former Skydigger's guitarist and acclaimed songwriter Paul Macleod, Running Red Lights guitarist Dave Puzak, drummer Mark Kelso (James Taylor, Holly Cole), pianist/arranger Lou Pomanti (Gordon Lightfoot, Michael Bubl) and bluegrass harmonica virtuoso and Nashville A-lister Mike Stevens.
A self-taught "song doctor," at age 15 Adam began doing live sound at clubs and recordings for local artists in his parents garage. In addition to owning and operating DNA Music Adam has worked on recordings at Eyre Space Studio (Chatham), A.M.E. recording (Kitchener) and Toronto's largest recording studio Kick Audio. He continues to support and educate the local arts community through workshops and has recently had discussions with Lambton College and The Lawrence House Center for the Arts about bringing increased availability for audio-related education to the area.
Currently Adam is working on records by Hello Bella and The Chocolate Robots at DNA Music. Known for his abilities as a songwriter and producer, Miner is also building a reputation for intricate mixes and his ability to operate in a myriad of genre's.
